Biomass Pretreatment Expert

Biomass pretreatment covers a series of processes that prepare biomass like agricultural residues, forest residues, or energy crops, for further processing into biofuels, chemicals, or other bioproducts. The objective of biomass pretreatment is to break down the complex structure of biomass and make it accessible for enzymes or microorganisms to convert it into value-added products. Pretreatment methods can be physical, chemical, biological, or a combination of these methods. Physical pretreatment would include things like milling, grinding, or extrusion, or thermal treatments such as steam explosion or microwave heating.
