Biodiesel Expert

Biodiesel is a vegetable oil- or animal fat-based diesel fuel consisting of long-chain alkyl (methyl, ethyl, or propyl) esters. Biodiesel is typically made by chemically reacting lipids (e.g., vegetable oil, soybean oil, animal fat (tallow) with an alcohol producing fatty acid esters. Biodiesel is meant to be used in standard diesel engines and is thus distinct from the vegetable and waste oils used in fuel-converted diesel engines. Biodiesel can be used alone or blended with petrodiesel in any proportion. Biodiesel blends can also be used as heating oil. A biodiesel expert has a background in this area, both via their education and experience. Biodiesel experts do a wide variety of things. They may assist investors in selecting the right biodiesel equipment or help them with overseeing the building of a biodiesel plant. They may assist biodiesel plant owners in making the plant run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. They may assist obligated parties under RFS2 in buying quality biodiesel or Renewable Identification Numbers (RINS). In matters involving biodiesel litigation, the consultant may serve as a biodiesel expert witness and assist the attorneys with understanding the biodiesel issues and testify in court about the biodiesel-related matter
