Renewable Energy Funding
A variety of renewable energy funding comes from federal programs that support innovative new technologies that have been successfully tested/operated at a demonstration scale and documentation (technical, market, socio-economic, environmental, and financial feasibility) and are ready for commercial-scale development.
The U.S. Dept of Agriculture has several USDA Funding programs and resources that are available to support companies and projects in renewable energy, the bioeconomy, and energy efficiency. These include USDA Biomass Research and Development Initiative (BRDI) Program, USDA Agriculture Research Service (ARS )Advanced Bioenergy and Bioproducts, USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, USDA Rural Energy For America Program (REAP), USDA Business and Industry (B&I) Program (for commercially proven technologies), USDA Biorefinery, Renewable Chemical, and Biobased Product Manufacturing Assistance Program (Section 9003), USDA Community Facilities Program, and the USDA Agriculture Research Service (ARS) Office of Technology Transfer (OTT).
The U.S. Dept of Energy has several DOE Funding programs and resources that are available to support companies and projects in renewable energy, the bioeconomy, and energy efficiency. These include the DOE National Laboratories and Technology Centers, DOE Biomass Research and Development Initiative (BRDI) Program, DOE Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) Seed Funding, DOE National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF), and the DOE Title XVII Loan Guarantee Program for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (REEE) Program.
