Net-Zero By 2050?

Last year’s UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) revealed that reaching net-zero will require 4 trillion to 5 trillion dollars in annual investment for decades to come. It also revealed that over 450 companies from 45 countries have committed to the decarbonization of the world economy. By the end of the conference, 136 countries, 115 regions, and 235 cities had committed to net-zero by 2050. The United Nations notes that over five thousand businesses have also made the pledge. Together these represent 90% of global GDP.  So, the race for the world’s economies to reach net-zero is on but achieving this carbon neutrality over the next few decades will be difficult and will require real commitment.   It is going to cost trillions of dollars of investment annually.

Tech companies are stepping up all over the world to help provide cleaner energy, but the business sector must be involved.  The IEA has warned that half the necessary reductions in carbon emissions will come from energy technologies that have yet to reach commercial markets. In creating a world for our children and grandchildren, we must realize that governments and philanthropists will not be able to meet this huge demand for funding.  But all is not lost.  Behind the scenes, there are many tech entrepreneurs quietly building emerging green technologies and innovations that will change the way we live, and how we use natural resources – and will help us avert disaster.

With over 150 experts worldwide, Lee Enterprises Consulting has experts in many specific clean and renewable areas, including anaerobic digestion, fermentation, biomass, conversion technologies for things like tires and railroad ties, organic synthesis, fuel additives, ethanol gas, biodiesel fuel including algae biofuels, solid-state and industrial fermentation, green energy grants, ag-biotech, agricultural waste, alcohol fuels, alternative proteins and animal-free products, sustainable foods, beverage fermentation, biocatalysis, biodiesel conversion, biogas production, biomass power, carbon intensity, co2 utilization, combined heat & power, Fischer-Tropsch technology, food waste, hydrothermal carbonization, industrial enzymes, landfill management, microbial fermentation, organic synthesis, plastic pyrolysis, plastic recycling, plastic waste, pyrolysis oil, reactor design, renewable identification number, the Renewable Fuel Standard (rfs2), solid recovered fuels, torrefaction and torrefied biomass, waste to energy, and waste-to-hydrogen.   This is a multidisciplinary group of green energy consultants that is a virtual “one-stop-shop” for any client need and handles projects of all types and sizes.
