Gas to Liquids Expert

What do gas to liquids experts do? Gas to liquids refers to a refining process whereby natural gas or some other gaseous hydrocarbon is converted into longer-chain hydrocarbons like gasoline or diesel fuel.  The Fischer-Tropsch process is a popular Gas-to-Liquids technology.  The conversion is a catalyzed chemical reaction in which synthesis gas (syngas), a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, is converted into synthetic liquid biofuels (e.g., synthetic diesel, gasoline, methanol) and “green” chemicals.  The composition of the final product is influenced by the syngas content (e.g., the ratio of hydrogen to carbon monoxide), temperature, pressure, and catalyst composition. Sometimes a Waste-to-Gas technology like gasification or steam reformation can be coupled with a Gas-to-Liquids technology to produce higher-value liquid synthetic fuels.

Renewable energy and biochemical consulting firms normally have experts in gas-to-liquid (GTL) and many other bioeconomy-related areas like biofuels/renewable fuels, biomaterials, biomass and biomass power, feedstocks, biotechnologies, and a variety of specialty services.  In addition to gas-to-liquid (GTL) experts, good bioeconomy consulting groups will also have expertise in biofuels like algae biofuels, aviation/bio-jet fuels, ethanol, cellulosic ethanol, advanced biofuels, biodiesel, renewable diesel, renewable natural gas, renewable and biochemicals, biogas, syngas, biochar, bio coal, biobutanol, pyrolysis oil, producer gas, and wood pellets, as well as biomaterials and biochemicals like animal health products, aquaculture, bio-fertilizers, bio-fibers, biomass to sugars, bioplastics/polymers, enzymes, food ingredients, industrial chemicals, latex, lubricants, nanocarbon/cellulose, nutraceuticals, organometallics, rubber, and solvents. They should also have expertise in technologies like agitation systems, anaerobic digestion, bio-oil extraction, bioreactors, carbon capture, carbon storage, carbonization, catalysis, cellulosic ethanol, cleantech, direct combustion, enzyme technologies, fermentation, Fischer-Tropsch, gasification, genetic engineering, hydrothermal,  nanotechnology, organosynthesis, power generation, pyrolysis, renewable technology due diligence, synthetic biology, thermochemical conversion, torrefaction, water treatment, and waste management.
