Michael is an economist and engineer by education.  He has been active in renewable energies during his 26-year professional career and is President of the International Biomass Torrefaction Council (IBTC). He pioneered biomass-fired district heating systems in Austria and the conversion of coal-fired systems to biomass in former socialist countries.  Michael started the first internet-based biomass trading platform (ABEX) in 1999, and for over a decade, led the international biomass trading company, EBES, in creating numerous intercontinental supply chains for palm kernel shells, pellets, and wood chips.  Since 2007, he has been a world leader in torrefaction technology development, supporting producers and trading houses in the US, Eastern Europe, Russia, and Malaysia in developing their trade into Europe.  Contact Michael.
