Jonathan helped found a cellulosic ethanol company and developed all of the company’s financial projections for 13 years including extensive, adaptive techno-economic analyses that looked beyond conventional biofuels and paved the way for higher-value possibilities in sustainable aviation fuels and specialty chemicals. He has an MBA from the Simon School at the University of Rochester, and a BS in science communication from Cornell University. Jonathan began his career as a science press officer, conducting extensive interviews with scientists and engineers to understand and communicate the importance of their thought leadership and enable the translation of their work into commercial impact. Those skills transferred into his financial modeling to allow him to conduct uniquely intuitive techno-economic analyses and communicate the complex results in a clear and meaningful way for precision due diligence, informing investment community decision-making. Jonathan has extensive experience with Federal and State level government decarbonization and biofuel programs, including RFS / RINs, LCFS, IRA NMTC, OZone, and local economic development stimulus packages.
