Dr. Wageesha Sharma is a process engineer with 7+ years of hands-on experience in fermentation biotech and bioprocess engineering, currently serving as Chief Technology Officer at HimUrja Solutions. At HimUrja, she leads technical teams, innovation, and technical due diligence for commercial renewable energy projects, including designing hybrid technology systems for challenging geographies and commercial-scale EPC programmes. She brings deep expertise in fermentation scale-up, having operated 2,400 L industrial bioreactors for pharmaceutical enzyme manufacturing, where she managed QA/QC protocols, upstream and downstream processing, and production quality standards.

Dr. Sharma holds a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from South Dakota Mines. She was awarded the SD EPSCoR NSF Track-1 Seed Grant as Co-Principal Investigator and received the Helen & Pat Goth Fellowship for academic excellence and high-impact research. Contact Wageesha.
