Pete has spent his 25-year career building new teams, developing partnerships, and growing businesses, including the past 13 years in climate technology. Pete is co-founder and Head of Commercial Development for Hydrogen Works, a technology development company focused on developing next-generation reversible solid oxide cells and their commercial applications. Previously, he spent eight years in Business and Corporate Development at Renewable Energy Group (REG), North America’s largest producer of biomass-based diesel, now part of Chevron. Pete handled a diverse portfolio of projects including feedstock diversification, due diligence of fuel production assets, and acquisition of distribution infrastructure assets. Pete also worked for renewable algae oil pioneer Solazyme, Inc., where he led government fuels projects and led projects with the Department of the Navy exceeding $40m in value.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, with a concentration in Finance. Pete is also a Colonel in the US Army Reserves, having held multiple leadership roles at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels throughout his career Contact Pete.
