Thermal Process and Waste-to-Energy Engineering, EPC/EPCM Project and Construction Management, Circular Economy and Composite Materials Recycling, Technical and Operational Due Diligence

Jaime Recasens Grau is an Industrial Engineer (UPC) and EPC/EPCM project director with more than 25 years of international experience delivering large-scale industrial and process plants. His core expertise lies in thermal-process and waste-to-energy engineering – biomass gasification, pyrolysis, rotary-kiln and combustion systems, flue-gas treatment and emissions compliance – combined with full command of the EPC project lifecycle, from process design and procurement through construction direction, commissioning and start-up.

He has directed and managed projects across Spain, Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, China, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Sweden and Latin America, leading multidisciplinary site teams of up to 360 personnel and holding full P&L accountability on multi-million-euro contracts. His project portfolio spans biomass gasification and waste-to-energy plants, Waelz-oxide metals-recycling facilities, a lithium-ion battery gigafactory, sulphuric-acid and steel-making plants, and high-voltage electrical substations.

A long-standing specialist in composite materials – the subject of his honours degree project at UPC and his work with carbon/kevlar pre-pregs, vacuum and oven systems – Jaime is the founder of RCA Engineering, an independent consultancy focused on EPC/EPCM project direction, circular economy and composites recycling. He provides technical and financial due diligence for circular-economy projects, advising owners, developers and investors on technology selection, feasibility, project risk and the translation of plant-level engineering into cash-flow and contractual terms.

He holds an MBA (La Salle, Barcelona / Philadelphia) and is a registered industrial engineer with the Col·legi d’Enginyers Graduats i Enginyers Tècnics Industrials del Garraf i l’Alt Penedès. Contact Jaime.
