Bob received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Economics and Marketing from Rutgers University. He has 45 years of experience worldwide in infrastructure, energy and power, project finance, and structured finance. He has been active in arranging financing, equity investment analysis, and asset recovery, and has developed structures to return non-performing assets to performing assets and to support ethanol projects to make them more palatable to the financial markets. He has worked worldwide, advising major governments on solving critical economic problems, and developed energy policies for various governments to push realistic climate-beneficial goals. Bob is a member of the Nuclear Innovation Alliance in conjunction with Harvard and MIT.
Since retiring in 2013, Bob has acted as an energy finance consultant, including developing innovative insurance solutions to facilitate financings, in addition to teaching a graduate course on the role of finance in insurance at Columbia University. Bob’s career included work in banking and insurance at Manufacturers Hanover Trust, Mobil Corp, Banque Indosuez, and the AIG member companies where he managed both the project finance advisory services of the AIU Energy Division and Highstar, a private equity fund focused on power generation, transportation, environmental service. He has published several articles and done interviews and presentations with such groups as Platts, Native American Finance Conferences, Pillsbury Winthrop Project Finance Conferences, InfoCast Project Finance Tutorials, E3 Energy Conferences, Milbank Project Finance Conferences, and the National Governors’ Association where he spoke on Energy Independence and Energy Security.
