Anuradha Mukherjee, Ph.D.
Biochemicals, Distillation, Fermentation, Bioenergy, Sustainability
Dr. Mukherjee has been involved in bio-process and distillation technology development for more than two decades. She has worked in Tojo Vikas, a unique India-based aroma chemicals company, for over a decade, where she was instrumental in setting up and scaling the bio-based manufacturing business. During her tenure at Tojo Vikas Biotech as co-founder, she established and led the R&D team, and subsequent scale-up efforts for green leaf volatiles, lactones, and aromatic intermediates. At Tojo Vikas Biotech, Anuradha directed efforts in the now patented reductase technology for bio-hydrogenation. She also designed high-efficiency vacuum-based distillation systems for terpenes, heterocyclic lactones, esters, and several other novel essential oil ingredients.
Her focus area now is the use of membrane, evaporative, and hybrid (batch and steady-state) technologies for bio-chemical production. Prior to her career at a successful biotech start-up, she designed and demonstrated a distillation system for producing alternative fuels from sugar-based feedstocks.
Anuradha has authored and published several papers on separation technology applications, bioconversion, renewable energy, and biofuels. She earned her MS and PhD in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK, USA, and her BE from the University of Pune in India. Contact Anuradha.
