Leonora has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology focused on biotechnology applications and is an experienced researcher specializing in enzymology. She is a skilled professional in biochemistry, biostatistics, protein purification and characterization, and the evaluation of phenolic compounds’ action in enzymes. She is the co-editor of the book “Recent Advances in Bioconversion of Lignocellulose to Biofuels and Value-Added Chemicals within the Biorefinery Concept” by Elsevier in 2020. She works on projects related to the hydrolysis of agricultural residues, aiming at the production of products with high added value, as well as the application of lignocellulolytic enzymes in biotechnological processes, such as textile industries, biofuel production, enzymatic cocktails formulation, and agro-residues to produce enzymes.
