Gerald has a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Toronto and over two decades of experience in technology development and commercialization in the forest industry. He led the bioenergy and biorefining business of a major forest products company. Gerald was also an executive with an emerging-biofuels company producing biochar, and he is a director of Biochar Ontario.  Gerald is a member of the expert panel on international standards for solid biofuels (wood/biomass pellets, torrefied pellets, and biochar briquettes) for ISO (TC 238). His expertise includes investor-grade pro forma design and analysis, feasibility studies and business plans, technology/venture vetting, and audits.
