Life Cycle Assessment, Biofuel System Analysis, Biomass Feedstock Supply Chain Analysis
Seungdo Kim holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Louisiana State University. He is a senior researcher at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center. He also holds the associate professor position in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Michigan State University. With over three decades of experience, he is highly skilled in life cycle assessment (LCA). His extensive LCA background is complemented by over a decade of active contributions as a submission editor and editorial board member for the International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment. His broad LCA experience encompasses diverse areas, including the assessment of home appliances (such as washing machines, color television sets, computer monitors, air conditioners, refrigerators, etc.), chemical processes (with a particular emphasis on substances utilized in pharmaceutical processes), biofuel systems, biobased materials, enzymes, and more. His research pursuits revolve around the LCA of biofuel systems, in-depth analysis of cellulosic biomass supply chains, and the evaluation of biofuel production systems’ economic and environmental aspects.
