Tuzun Guvener, Ph.D.
Synthetic Biology, Strain Engineering, Assay Development, Crop Protection, Sustainable Fertilizers, Molecular Diagnostics
Dr. Tuzun Guvener brings over eight years of experience driving early-stage product innovation and R&D platform development across the AgTech and human health sectors. Her work spans molecular diagnostics and sustainable agriculture solutions.
With more than fifteen years of academic research, Dr. Guvener has advanced a mechanistic understanding of microbial signaling, biofilm formation, community interactions, and metabolic control, integrating these insights into frameworks that link microbial phenotypes to function and inform therapeutic development strategies. In industry, she has led the establishment of crop protection discovery workflows at Corteva Agriscience, developed high-throughput assays for biostimulant screening at Pivot Bio, and implemented cost-effective, high-throughput laboratory-developed tests (LDTs) at renegade.bio.
Her technical expertise includes synthetic biology, strain engineering, functional genomics, assay development, molecular and biochemical techniques, protein purification, crop protection biologicals, sustainable fertilizers, plant tissue culture, and PCR-based diagnostics. Dr. Guvener has co-authored 13 peer-reviewed publications. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Iowa and the University of Washington. Contact Tuzun.
