Kent has over 40 years of experience in developing and deploying next-generation business and technology solutions. Kent specializes in building Bio/Circular/Green economy capabilities in the areas of SAF production, Pyrolysis, Precision Fermentation, Synthetic Biology, and innovative/effective Health and Wellness products. Kent has a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering and also led the management consulting practice of Accenture management consulting firm in Thailand. Presently, he is also a Director for e-waste recycling solution provider Kitsune Technologies.
Recently, Kent led a 3-month feasibility assessment of the potential of producing SAF in Fiji using existing sugarcane resources. The study has enabled the Fiji Government and Fiji Airways to plot a course forward for developing a domestic SAF supply. Previously in Thailand, Kent led a more detailed feasibility study on the selection of a plastic pyrolysis system for the production of pyoil for recycling to virgin plastics.
As a bioeconomy consultant, Kent is active in the fields of pyrolysis (both woody biomass and plastics) and precision fermentation. He has assisted several major companies in SE Asia in developing advanced biotech capabilities as they migrate to biobased products from their historical petrochemical and agricultural commodity markets. His role is typically to develop new business/technology strategies for producing high-value bioproducts while leveraging existing feedstocks and processing expertise. He has also worked with Asian science and technology government agencies to define roadmaps for the development and design of Synbio ecosystems.
Kent is skilled at scouting advanced technology solutions that are fit for purpose for his clients and developing detailed business case analyses of the potential return on investment. He has experience in designing and executing joint venture business agreements in order to leverage the existing capabilities of multiple partners into a combined strategic business venture.
