John has a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont and has more than 50 years of experience in the planning, design, permitting, and construction of small through multi-million dollar municipal and private renewable energy, biogas, anaerobic digester, and wastewater treatment projects throughout the U.S.A, the Caribbean, and Mexico.  He is the Founder and President of Forcier Consulting Engineers, PC and was honored with the American Council of Engineering Companies’ “Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2021, as the Vermont “Engineer of the Year” in 2000, and was inducted into Tau Beta Pi as an “Eminent Engineer” in 1999.  His unique experience includes 19 years in the construction industry and 31 years in consulting engineering. His related anaerobic digester/biogas experience includes over 70 farm-based, commercial, industrial, municipal, and wastewater treatment facility AD systems utilizing biosolids, dairy manure, chicken litter/manure, food waste, bagasse, vinasse, glycerin, SSO, DAF, and FOG. The AD systems range from 100 kWe to 10 MWe and handle up to 300,000 tons/yr. of organic feedstocks. The outputs include renewable electrical energy to the grid, Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) to Natural Gas Systems or Compressed Biomethane (BioCNG) including RINs and LCFS. By-Products include up to 35 MMBtu’s/hour of thermal energy, animal bedding, and high-NPK organic fertilizers. Specialty projects also include Hub & Spoke projects with Biogas Cleaning/Upgrading, Product Compression, Virtual Pipelines (trucking compressed RNG), Product Decompression, and insertion into the Natural Gas Pipeline. Other special projects include BioCNG (Compressed Renewable Natural Gas) filling stations. By-Products include animal bedding and high-NPK organic fertilizer. He also serves as an Anaerobic Digester/Biogas and Wastewater Treatment Subject Matter Expert for Due Diligence, Independent Engineering Studies, and Mediation/Litigation cases throughout the USA.
