Ian Burke, MBA, M.S.
Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) / Biomethane, Anaerobic Digestion, Project Development & Permitting, Grid & Utility Connections, Commercial Structuring, Financial Modelling
Ian is a project developer and commercial lead focused on taking regulated, grid-connected energy assets from concept through to “ready-to-build” decision points. He is currently Project Manager and Developer on a large-scale anaerobic digestion/biomethane facility in Ireland (~100 GWh/year), coordinating multi-disciplinary workstreams across site selection, planning strategy, EIAR delivery, and the design and routing of a dedicated pipeline connection to the national gas grid (as lead interface with Gas Networks Ireland). He has also progressed commercial structuring—securing key feedstock volumes, advancing offtake discussions (biomethane, certificates, digestate, CO₂), and building the investment-grade financial model used to drive capital decisions, sensitivities, and negotiation strategy.
Prior to renewables development, Ian held senior front-office roles within Allied Irish Bank Treasury, ultimately serving as Head of FX Derivatives. Ian holds an MBA from INSEAD (July 2024), an MSc in Finance (First Class), and a BSc in Physics & Energy from the University of Limerick, and has been nationally recognised for elite performance and leadership in high-pressure team environments.
