Feedstock Procurement and Feedstock Risk Management
Nate graduated from Iowa State University in 2004 with a degree in Finance. Upon graduation, Nate started his career as a Risk Management Consultant at StoneX (formerly known as INTL FCStone) and has worked there for over 20 years. He has primarily focused on risk management and feedstock supply into the renewable sectors under their StoneX Commodity Solutions division. Nate also helps manage risk for feedstock suppliers and veg oil crush plants. Today Nate and his team help over 800 million gallons of bio and renewable diesel capacity lock in forward margins via financial instruments while physically trading over 4 billion pounds of fats, oils, and greases into this space. He works day-to-day with biodiesel plants, biodiesel suppliers, animal fats and grease suppliers, seed crushers, and elevators, and has taken a leadership role in the development of integrated risk management plans and “Feedstock Financing” programs for biodiesel plants. Nate works to establish risk management strategies to protect and lock in margins for both integrated crushing and standalone biodiesel facilities. Nate’s main focus is structuring trades that lock in margins for clients. Contact Nate.
