Ted has an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Western Ontario and is the founder of BC&T Inc. (Beardwood Consulting & Technologies Inc.). Over the past 47 years, Ted was the Senior Global Applications Consultant for Solenis, the Technical Director for the Canadian Operations of the Ashland Water Technologies Division, and the Area Sales Manager for the Dearborn Division of WR Grace (now Betz/GE/Suez). His experience in the industrial water conditioning industry has ranged from service, sales, sales management, new construction and commissioning of thermal systems, laboratory management, governmental and environmental regulatory compliance, product management, and consulting. He is a member of several organizations including NACE, IPE, RSES, ASTM, and ASME. Ted is a past Chair of Water Technologies, the Research and Technology Committee for Water and Steam in Thermal Systems for ASME, and a former working member of PTC – 31 Performance Test Code for High Purity Water Systems. He is also the past Chair of NACE International Research Committee STG 11 (now TC – 08) on Water. Ted’s responsibilities have included the development of product and problem-solving methods for the prevention of scale, corrosion, fouling, and microbiological growth applied to aqueous heat transfer and process systems. Corrosion failure analysis, pretreatment evaluations, and consulting are also within his expertise. He has produced 280 internal and external papers and holds fourteen patents and ten outstanding records of invention. He has presented to many technical societies such as NACE International, ASME, IWC, EPRI, IDEA, CTI, TAPPI, and the International Fouling Conference (now HTRI). Contact Ted.
