Ryan Adolphson is an executive leader, entrepreneur, and commercialization specialist with more than 30 years of experience helping organizations develop, evaluate, scale, finance, and commercialize emerging technologies across the bioeconomy. His expertise spans industrial biotechnology, fermentation, biobased materials and chemicals, renewable fuels, biomass conversion, manufacturing systems, project development, project finance, feasibility analysis, technology assessment, technical and commercial due diligence, technology scale-up, commercialization, and business strategy. Ryan has worked across the full technology lifecycle—from laboratory research and pilot plant operations to commercial manufacturing, capital formation, project execution, and global market deployment.
At RWDC, Ryan has helped transform an early-stage biotechnology venture into a global company focused on sustainable materials and advanced biopolymer technologies. His experience includes manufacturing scale-up, commercialization, strategic partnerships, organizational development, project development, project execution, investor support, technical and commercial due diligence, and capital formation activities exceeding $250 million. Prior to RWDC, Ryan held multiple leadership positions at the University of Georgia, where he directed research, pilot plant operations, technology commercialization, and industry outreach programs while advising more than 30 companies on manufacturing systems, infrastructure development, renewable energy, technology deployment, and growth strategy.
Ryan assists clients with feasibility analysis, technology assessment, technical and commercial due diligence, project development, project finance support, scale-up strategy, manufacturing operations, commercialization planning, capital formation, investor support, and strategic growth initiatives. He has worked with startups, multinational corporations, investors, universities, government agencies, and industry organizations across North America, Europe, South America, and Southeast Asia.
