Front End Loading or Pre-Project Planning (PPP)

Biofuels Project Planning involves an initial step called front end loading or pre project planning (PPP).  This is a formal process for the process for conceptual development of processes in the up-stream, biotechnology, petrochemical, refining and specialty chemical areas.    It involves developing sufficient strategic information which the owners can determine risks and make decisions. It typically involves a stage-gate process, whereby a project must pass through formal gates at well-defined milestones within the project.
