Dr. Akers has 17+ years of biotechnology experience from R&D bench scale to industrial scale-up. She has demonstrated a track record in the biotechnology sector with extensive professional experience leading diverse teams and managing innovative portfolio projects.

Her role as an executive included: leading R&D, managing diverse teams (entry-levels, juniors, seniors and managers), strategy development, implementation and execution, and developing business opportunities. She is the founder and head of a technology development company focused on producing 2G biofuels and proteins from lignocellulosic biomass.

Previously, Dr. Akers spent 13 years in R&D working for Blue Sugars and Arbiom, producing biomass-based biofuels, biochemicals, lignin and proteins for feed and food. Lisette earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from South Dakota State University and an MBA from Duke University. Contact Lisette.
