Lowell has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Washington, Oregon, California, and Florida.  He holds four patents covering the design and implementation of both regenerable and fixed bed siloxane removal processes and is the owner and developer of a system that produces RNG from Biogas, using chemical extraction.

Lowell has spent over 35 years in project development and implementation of biogas to energy projects, as well as a broad spectrum of ASME and non-code process vessels for the wastewater treatment industry and the food industry.  In addition, commercializing new technology in the biogas energy field through new and innovative concepts for low capital and low operational costs has been his goal. He was the project manager for the City of San Jose biogas to Fuel Cell Energy Program, the first fuel cell program for the municipality.  Most recently, he initiated a research pilot program to create pipeline-quality methane gas from animal waste, using chemical separation.  The process is significantly more cost-effective from a capital cost viewpoint, as well as a significant reduction in OPEX when compared to membrane or PSA systems.    He has served as a failure analysis expert, including expert witness testimonies for court cases involving lawsuits for failed systems.
